These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Circuit ("the Service"), operated by Circuit ("we," "our," or "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Circuit.
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or platform notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
You must be at least 18 years old — or currently enrolled in an accredited law school — to use Circuit. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this eligibility requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
Circuit is designed for students, early-career professionals, and experienced professionals who volunteer as mentors. Circuit is not a recruiting platform. Use of the platform to source candidates, pitch employment opportunities, or conduct hiring activity is prohibited.
You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
You agree to notify us immediately at hello@joincircuit.co if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
Mentors volunteer their time. Circuit is a mentorship platform, not an employment or paid consulting arrangement. Mentors are not compensated for their time and do not receive payment through Circuit.
By registering as a mentor, you agree to:
Mentors may pause or discontinue participation at any time through their dashboard settings.
As a mentee, you agree to:
You agree not to:
Violations may result in immediate account suspension or termination.
Circuit uses a proprietary algorithm to generate weekly mentor-mentee match recommendations. We do not guarantee that any match will result in a successful conversation, career outcome, or ongoing relationship.
Circuit is not responsible for outcomes of conversations facilitated through the platform, including but not limited to career decisions made in reliance on mentor advice, failed to schedule calls, or interpersonal disputes between users.
You retain ownership of the content you submit to Circuit (your profile, bio, written responses). By submitting content, you grant Circuit a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and display that content for the purpose of operating the platform.
The Circuit platform, including its design, matching algorithm, and software, is owned by Circuit and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Your use of Circuit is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CIRCUIT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, CAREER OPPORTUNITIES, OR DATA, EVEN IF CIRCUIT HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED $100.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Circuit and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings or by contacting hello@joincircuit.co. Deletion requests are processed within 30 days.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association's rules, conducted in Delaware.
You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.
